Malina color refers to a freshly picked Rubus idaeus aggregate-drupe-cluster: a saturated, slightly cool deep magenta with the matte finish of anthocyanin-rich raspberry-flesh on aggregate drupelets. The Slavic root mal- refers to the small individual drupelet structure.
