Forthright Suoh (#AF0269) is a true magenta with a jewel character. It carries the deep, saturated richness of a gemstone. The Japanese name for sappanwood — Caesalpinia sappan — a Southeast Asian dye source whose heartwood yields a deep red traditionally used in the lining of formal kimono and the inks of Edo-period woodblock printing.
