Strobing Sequoia
Strobing Sequoia (#ADFCA2) is a soft green with a pastel character. It reads calm and airy, with enough chroma to feel intentional rather than washed out. Its HSL profile (113°, 94%, 81%) places it in the highly saturated band at a light lightness. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. For a confident two-color system, pair it with its complementary violet. For something softer, pull in its analogous neighbors on either side of the wheel.
Etymology
Greek stróbos, whirling — present-participle of strobe. As a color modifier, strobing implies a saturated-and-pulse-flashing quality, the bright color of concert-strobe-light and photographic-strobe high-frequency-pulse light emission. Sits at the bright-and-flashing end of the grid, parallel to flashing and pulsating in usage.
Sequoiadendron giganteum, the giant sequoia of the Sierra Nevada — the largest living tree species on Earth by volume. Sequoia color refers to mature sequoia needle foliage: a deep, slightly cool dark green with the matte finish of scale-leaf conifer foliage.
