Greek symmetría, due-proportion — adjectival suffix -al, derived from sym-metron (with-measure). The color refers to a freshly-dyed tobi-iro cotton: a soft, slightly muted red-brown with the matte finish of plant-and-iron mordant. Drier than rust, warmer than maroon.
