Royal Cinnamon
Royal Cinnamon (#AB5803) is a deep orange with a jewel character. It carries the deep, saturated richness of a gemstone. Authoritative and slightly formal, it works well for type and heavy UI elements. Its HSL profile (30°, 97%, 34%) places it in the highly saturated band at a dark lightness. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. Etymology
The blue of European royal court dress and regalia from the late seventeenth century forward — the color of British peers' robes, French royal sashes, the lining of the crown-jewel cases. The color refers to a saturated, slightly violet-shifted blue with the matte finish of velvet or melton wool dyed to maximum intensity: deeper than cornflower, warmer than ultramarine, with the heraldic weight of a color reserved for monarchs and the official Crown.
The inner bark of Cinnamomum verum, the Sri Lankan true cinnamon — harvested in thin scrolls and dried into the curled quills familiar from spice shelves. The color is freshly ground cinnamon powder: a warm, slightly dusty red-brown that sits between rust and cocoa.
