Electric Echinops
Electric Echinops (#A776FE) is a soft indigo with a cool character. It leans cool, sitting on the blue, green, and violet side of the wheel. Etymology
From the Greek elektron, amber — the substance whose static-electric properties were observed by Thales of Miletus. Globe thistle (Echinops ritro) — Mediterranean and West-Asian Asteraceae prized for its perfectly spherical steel-blue capitula on grey-felted stems. Echinops color refers to a fully bloomed Echinops ritro sphere: a saturated, slightly cool deep blue-violet with the matte finish of dense radiating thistle disk-flowers on a globe receptacle. Drier and steelier than Allium, with the Greek genus name meaning hedgehog-faced.
