Dappled Aral (#A6B7CB) is a soft azure with a cool character. It leans cool, sitting on the blue, green, and violet side of the wheel. Old Norse depill, spot / pool — past-participle of dapple. Sits at the pale-and-soft end of the grid, parallel to speckled and mottled in usage.
The Aral Sea — formerly the world's fourth-largest lake, between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, now reduced to a tenth of its size by Soviet-era irrigation diversions.
