Old English forð-riht, straight ahead, direct. Used as a color modifier in Anglo-Saxon-revival contexts for hues that read as honest and unguarded. The family Ramphastidae — tropical American birds with oversized colorful beaks. Toucan refers specifically to the keel-billed toucan (Ramphastos sulfuratus) whose beak is colored in green, yellow, orange, and red.
