Adamant Morganite
Adamant Morganite (#950A74) is a deep magenta with a jewel character. It carries the deep, saturated richness of a gemstone. Authoritative and slightly formal, it works well for type and heavy UI elements. Its HSL profile (314°, 87%, 31%) places it in the highly saturated band at a dark lightness. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. For a confident two-color system, pair it with its complementary green. For something softer, pull in its analogous neighbors on either side of the wheel.
Etymology
Greek adámas, unconquerable — derived from a- (not) plus damnan (to subdue). As a color modifier, adamant implies a saturated-and-rock-hard quality where the hue maintains diamond-hard pigmentation. Sits at the bold-and-resilient end of the grid, parallel to indomitable and ironclad in usage.
Pink variety of the cyclosilicate beryl — first described from the San Piero in Campo deposits of Elba in 1911 and named for the financier J.P. Morgan. The color comes from manganese-and-cesium substitution. Morganite color refers to a faceted San Piero morganite gemstone: a saturated, slightly cool deep magenta with the glassy finish of cesium-and-manganese-substituted beryl. Cooler and pinker than aquamarine.
