Forthright Maize
Forthright Maize (#948D06) is a deep yellow with a jewel character. It carries the deep, saturated richness of a gemstone. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. Etymology
Old English forð-riht, straight ahead, direct. Used as a color modifier in Anglo-Saxon-revival contexts for hues that read as honest and unguarded. Zea mays, the New World grass domesticated in the Balsas River valley of Mexico nine thousand years ago — now the largest cereal crop on Earth by yield. The color refers to dried yellow dent corn at harvest: a clean, slightly muted gold-yellow with the matte finish of cured grain. The wider Spanish maíz keeps the original Taíno word; English borrowed it before adopting corn in the United States.
