Blazing Twilight

#92a0fb
Notes

Blazing Twilight (#92A0FB) is a soft blue with a pastel character. It reads calm and airy, with enough chroma to feel intentional rather than washed out. Its HSL profile (232°, 93%, 78%) places it in the highly saturated band at a light lightness. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. For a confident two-color system, pair it with its complementary amber. For something softer, pull in its analogous neighbors on either side of the wheel.

Etymology

Blazing
adjective

Old English blǣse, flame — present-participle of blaze. As a color modifier, blazing implies a saturated-and-bright-flaming quality, the bright color of Yule-log and Bonfire-Night large-flame fire-emission. Sits at the bright-and-warm end of the grid, parallel to flaming and scorching in usage.

Twilight
noun

The transitional sky color in the half-hour after sunset — when direct sunlight has gone but the upper atmosphere still scatters reds, oranges, and finally deep blues. The color refers to the western sky at nautical twilight on a clear evening: a deep, slightly violet-shifted dark blue with the optical depth of a sky still receiving scattered light from below the horizon. Deeper than dawn, warmer than midnight.
