Spangled Khiva
Spangled Khiva (#8E91FE) is a soft blue with a pastel character. It reads calm and airy, with enough chroma to feel intentional rather than washed out. Middle Dutch spange, clasp / metal-disc — past-participle of spangle. As a color modifier, spangled implies a saturated-and-multi-point-reflective quality, the bright color of American-flag-stars and sequined-fabric metallic-disc-and-jewel-decoration. Sits at the bright-and-reflective end of the grid, parallel to glittering and sequined in usage.

Khiva color refers to the deep-blue tilework of the Islam Khoja minaret in Itchan Kala: a saturated, slightly cool deep blue-violet with the glossy finish of cobalt-glazed Khwarezmian ceramic tile under the high desert sun.
