Yamabuki-iro (mountain-rose color) gave Japanese its name for a saturated yellow-orange hue used in court robes and woodblock prints. The color refers to a fully open kerria flower: a saturated, slightly red-shifted yellow-orange with the satin finish of small five-petaled bloom. Warmer than canary, lighter than marigold.
