Peaceful Persimmon
Peaceful Persimmon (#8D3F03) is a deep orange with a jewel character. It carries the deep, saturated richness of a gemstone. Authoritative and slightly formal, it works well for type and heavy UI elements. Its HSL profile (26°, 96%, 28%) places it in the highly saturated band at a dark lightness. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. Etymology
Latin pāx, peace — adjectival suffix -ful. As a color modifier, peaceful implies a clear-and-restful-and-calm quality where the hue carries the visual register of Quaker-meeting-house still-and-meditative interior atmosphere. Sits at the crisp-and-calm end of the grid, parallel to serene and placid in usage.
Diospyros kaki, the East Asian persimmon — a fruit eaten ripe from the tree in Japan since at least the eighth century, where its color is named kaki-iro. The fall color of the unblemished astringent fruit: a dense, slightly red orange with the velvet finish of a wax-skinned Hachiya. Closer to maple syrup than to citrus, with the patient warmth of a fruit that takes a hard frost to sweeten.
