Flat Marrakech
Flat Marrakech (#8C4002) is a deep orange with a jewel character. It carries the deep, saturated richness of a gemstone. Authoritative and slightly formal, it works well for type and heavy UI elements. Its HSL profile (27°, 97%, 28%) places it in the highly saturated band at a dark lightness. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. Old Norse flatr, flat / level. As a color modifier, flat implies a clear-and-evenly-spread quality where the hue carries the matte-finish visual register of unmodulated single-plane surface. Sits at the crisp-and-balanced end of the grid, parallel to level and even in usage.
The Moroccan city — its medieval walls limewashed in ocre rouge, the iron-rich earth that gives the city its nickname the Red City. Marrakech refers to the south-facing facade of the Koutoubia Mosque at sunset: a saturated, slightly muted deep orange-pink with the matte finish of clay-and-lime wall paint.
