Engraved Mar
Engraved Mar (#8BDDF2) is a soft cyan with a cool character. It leans cool, sitting on the blue, green, and violet side of the wheel. Old French engraver, to dig in — past-participle of engrave. The Catalan and Spanish word for sea — used in Mar Menor (Spanish), Mar de la Tranquilidad, and the saturated blue-green of Iberian Mediterranean coast. The color refers to the Mar Cantábrico off northern Spain at sunset: a saturated, slightly cool deep blue-green with the optical depth of cold Atlantic water.
