Bastioned Momoiro
Bastioned Momoiro (#8A0563) is a deep magenta with a jewel character. It carries the deep, saturated richness of a gemstone. Italian bastionato, fortified-with-bastions — past-participle of bastion, derived from bastia (fortified-tower). As a color modifier, bastioned implies a saturated-and-fortified-and-projecting quality, the deep-rich color of Vauban-period military-fortress star-fort projecting-bastion stone-architecture. Japanese 桃色, peach color — though traditionally referring to the warm pink of Prunus persica peach blossom, the modern color name momoiro extends to the deep-saturated magenta-pink of cultivated double-petaled peach varieties.
