Truthful Ammolite
Truthful Ammolite (#86FDF3) is a soft cyan with a cool character. It leans cool, sitting on the blue, green, and violet side of the wheel. Quiet and dependable, a fit for product UI and data visualization. Its HSL profile (175°, 97%, 76%) places it in the highly saturated band at a light lightness. Old English trēowth, truth — adjectival suffix -ful. The fossilized iridescent shell of Placenticeras ammonites — mined principally from the Bearpaw Formation in southern Alberta, Canada. The color refers to a polished ammolite cabochon: a saturated, slightly cool deep blue-green with the iridescent satin finish of structurally colored ancient nacre.
