Reposeful Toucan
Reposeful Toucan (#852E11) is a deep orange with a jewel character. It carries the deep, saturated richness of a gemstone. Authoritative and slightly formal, it works well for type and heavy UI elements. Its HSL profile (15°, 77%, 29%) places it in the highly saturated band at a dark lightness. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. Latin repōnere, to put back — adjectival suffix -ful. As a color modifier, reposeful implies a clear-and-restful-and-still quality, the calm color of pre-modern monastic cloister-and-refectory meditative-and-silent interior architecture. The family Ramphastidae — tropical American birds with oversized colorful beaks. Toucan refers specifically to the keel-billed toucan (Ramphastos sulfuratus) whose beak is colored in green, yellow, orange, and red. The color refers to the orange section of a toucan's beak: a saturated, slightly red orange with the matte finish of keratin. Warmer than oriole.
