Adamant Eudialyte
Adamant Eudialyte (#7F0770) is a deep violet with a jewel character. It carries the deep, saturated richness of a gemstone. Authoritative and slightly formal, it works well for type and heavy UI elements. Its HSL profile (308°, 90%, 26%) places it in the highly saturated band at a dark lightness. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. Etymology
Greek adámas, unconquerable — derived from a- (not) plus damnan (to subdue). As a color modifier, adamant implies a saturated-and-rock-hard quality where the hue maintains diamond-hard pigmentation. Sits at the bold-and-resilient end of the grid, parallel to indomitable and ironclad in usage.
Rare zirconium-cyclosilicate first described from Greenland's Ilímaussaq Complex in 1819. The mineral's deep-raspberry-pink color comes from manganese substitution in the cyclosilicate ring sites. Eudialyte color refers to a polished Ilímaussaq eudialyte cabochon: a saturated, slightly cool deep magenta with the glassy finish of complex zirconium-sodium-cyclosilicate. The Greek genus name eu-dialytos means easily decomposed in acid.
