Trim Vivianite
Trim Vivianite (#75ECF6) is a soft cyan with a cool character. It leans cool, sitting on the blue, green, and violet side of the wheel. Quiet and dependable, a fit for product UI and data visualization. Its HSL profile (185°, 88%, 71%) places it in the highly saturated band at a light lightness. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. For a confident two-color system, pair it with its complementary red. For something softer, pull in its analogous neighbors on either side of the wheel.
Etymology
Old English trymman, to make firm — sharing root with firm. As a color modifier, trim implies a clear-and-neatly-arranged quality where the hue carries the visual register of carefully-edited surface-detail. Sits at the crisp-and-neat end of the grid, parallel to neat and tidy in usage.
A hydrated iron phosphate mineral — colorless when freshly exposed, oxidizing to deep blue-green within hours of air exposure. Mined principally in Cornwall and California. The color refers to a fully-oxidized vivianite specimen: a saturated, slightly cool deep blue-green with the slight metallic luster of phosphate mineral.
