Refulgent Sprout
Refulgent Sprout (#72A113) is a true lime with a jewel character. It carries the deep, saturated richness of a gemstone. Etymology
Latin refulgēns, shining-back — present-participle of refulgere, sharing root with fulgor (lightning). As a color modifier, refulgent implies a saturated-and-reflective-shining quality, the bright color of polished-bronze-and-armor reflective-surface mid-day-sun reflection. Sits at the bright-and-saturated end of the grid, parallel to effulgent and resplendent in usage.
A sprout is a newly emerged seedling — the first vascular leaves above the cotyledons, when chlorophyll is just developing. The color refers to a tray of pea or alfalfa sprouts: a soft, slightly yellow-shifted green with the optical translucency of cells full of water.
