Alit Romaine
Alit Romaine (#6EB20B) is a true lime with a jewel character. It carries the deep, saturated richness of a gemstone. Authoritative and slightly formal, it works well for type and heavy UI elements. Its HSL profile (84°, 88%, 37%) places it in the highly saturated band at a mid lightness. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. Etymology
Old English ā-lihtan, to alight — past-participle of alight. As a color modifier, alit implies a saturated-and-just-illuminated quality, the bright color of evening-streetlamp and Christmas-tree-light freshly-switched-on emission. Sits at the bright-and-warm end of the grid, parallel to aflame and aglow in usage.
Lactuca sativa var. longifolia, the upright lettuce variety whose tall green-and-white heads are essential to Caesar salad. Named for Rome, where the Romans cultivated it for European salad tradition. The color refers to a fresh romaine leaf: a soft, slightly cool yellow-green with the satin finish of dewy lettuce.
