Greek néon, new — element-name (atomic-number 10), discovered by William Ramsay in 1898. Melissa officinalis, the European mint-family herb whose lemon-scented leaves perfume herbal teas and traditional medicine. The color refers to fresh lemon balm leaves in summer: a saturated, slightly yellow yellow-green with the matte finish of small mint-family leaves. Lighter than mint.
