Manorial Auvergne (#659C17) is a true lime with a jewel character. It carries the deep, saturated richness of a gemstone. Latin manōrium, dwelling — adjectival suffix -al, derived from manēre (to remain). As a color modifier, manorial implies a saturated-and-aristocratic-and-rural quality, the deep-rich color of pre-modern English manor-house livery-and-tapestry tradition. Sits at the bold-and-aristocratic end of the grid, parallel to lordly and patrician.
