Composed Shikon
Composed Shikon (#632093) is a true indigo with a jewel character. It carries the deep, saturated richness of a gemstone. Authoritative and slightly formal, it works well for type and heavy UI elements. Its HSL profile (275°, 64%, 35%) places it in the balanced band at a mid lightness. It works across type, buttons, and borders, saturated enough to feel deliberate but balanced enough to not fight the rest of the palette. Etymology
The past participle of compose, to arrange together — used as a color modifier for hues that read as deliberate and balanced. Japanese 紫根, gromwell root (Lithospermum erythrorhizon) — the purple-root dye source for traditional Japanese murasaki and the medicinal-herb base for the eponymous shikon ointment used in burn treatment. Shikon color refers to a freshly harvested Lithospermum erythrorhizon root cross-section: a saturated, slightly cool deep violet with the matte finish of fresh root dye on hand-spun silk.
