Voluptuous Frond
Voluptuous Frond (#609A01) is a deep lime with a jewel character. It carries the deep, saturated richness of a gemstone. Authoritative and slightly formal, it works well for type and heavy UI elements. Its HSL profile (83°, 99%, 30%) places it in the highly saturated band at a dark lightness. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. Latin voluptuōsus, pleasurable — derived from voluptās (pleasure). As a color modifier, voluptuous implies a saturated-and-rich-and-curving-sensual quality, the deep-rich color of Rubens-and-Boucher baroque-and-rococo flesh-and-fabric tonality. Sits at the bold-and-saturated end of the grid, parallel to lush and plush in tone.
The botanical term for a divided leaf — the segmented blade of a fern, palm, or cycad. The color refers to the upper surface of a healthy unfurled fern frond: a soft, slightly yellow-shifted green with the matte chlorophyll finish of new growth. Lighter than fern, cooler than sage, with the unfurling gesture implied by a word that means leaf almost everywhere except where it means primitive plant.
