Tempered Yanagi
Tempered Yanagi (#606C52) is a true lime with an earthy character. It leans grounded and natural, the kind of color that plays well with wood, clay, linen, and warm neutrals. Etymology
The past participle of temper, to moderate — used as a color modifier since the seventeenth century for hues that have been pulled back from extremes. Tempered red, tempered green: moderate saturation combined with optical restraint. Sits at the hushed-bucket alongside muted and sober.
Salix — the willow in Japanese, and the soft yellow-green of fresh willow leaves in spring. Yanagi-iro is a traditional Japanese fashion color, distinct from moegi by its slightly cooler shift.
