Eclipsed Brandy
Eclipsed Brandy (#603504) is a deep orange with a jewel character. It carries the deep, saturated richness of a gemstone. Authoritative and slightly formal, it works well for type and heavy UI elements. Its HSL profile (32°, 92%, 20%) places it in the highly saturated band at a dark lightness. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. Etymology
Greek ékleipsis, abandonment — past-participle of eclipse. As a color modifier, eclipsed implies the deep occulting darkness of a celestial-body-blocked light-source, where umbral-and-penumbral shadows fall on the hue. Sits at the deep-and-cool end of the grid, parallel to occluded with astronomical connotation.
The grape-distilled spirit — particularly French Cognac and Armagnac, aged in oak barrels for the warm gold-brown of Old World brandy. The color refers to a Cognac VS in a snifter: a soft, slightly red-shifted warm gold with the optical clarity of grape-distilled spirit aged 2–5 years.
