Spartan Auvergne
Spartan Auvergne (#5D9B00) is a deep lime with a jewel character. It carries the deep, saturated richness of a gemstone. Authoritative and slightly formal, it works well for type and heavy UI elements. Its HSL profile (84°, 100%, 30%) places it in the highly saturated band at a dark lightness. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. For a confident two-color system, pair it with its complementary indigo. For something softer, pull in its analogous neighbors on either side of the wheel.

Greek Spartiátēs, of Sparta — adjectival suffix referring to the Lacedaemonian warrior city. As a color modifier, spartan implies a saturated-and-disciplined-and-formal quality, the deep-rich color of Spartan-hoplite military-class crimson-and-bronze armor-and-cloak. Sits at the bold-and-formal end of the grid, parallel to austere and stern in tone.
The volcanic central French region — and the deep green of Auvergne plateau pasture, Salers cattle grazing land, and the green moss of volcanic-rock walls. Auvergne refers to an Auvergne montagne in early summer: a saturated, slightly muted deep yellow-green with the matte finish of volcanic-soil grass.
