Lit Vesuvianite
Lit Vesuvianite (#5BA71C) is a true lime with a jewel character. It carries the deep, saturated richness of a gemstone. Authoritative and slightly formal, it works well for type and heavy UI elements. Its HSL profile (93°, 71%, 38%) places it in the balanced band at a mid lightness. It works across type, buttons, and borders, saturated enough to feel deliberate but balanced enough to not fight the rest of the palette. Etymology
The past participle of light — short and modern. Used as a color word since the late twentieth century for hues that read as if they were illuminated. A calcium-aluminum-magnesium silicate gem — also called idocrase — mined principally near Mount Vesuvius (the source of its name) and in California. Yellow-green to brown-green in color.
