Dazzling Pesto (#55AD0F) is a true lime with a jewel character. It carries the deep, saturated richness of a gemstone. Authoritative and slightly formal, it works well for type and heavy UI elements. Its HSL profile (93°, 84%, 37%) places it in the highly saturated band at a mid lightness. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. Etymology
The progressive participle of dazzle, to overwhelm with brightness — used as a color word since the seventeenth century for hues that read as intense enough to be momentarily blinding. The Italian basil-and-pine-nut sauce — pesto alla genovese of Liguria — made from fresh basil, pine nuts, garlic, parmigiano, and olive oil. The color refers to fresh-pounded pesto in a marble mortar: a saturated, slightly cool deep yellow-green with the matte finish of pureed basil-and-oil.
