Strobing Maui
Strobing Maui (#54F9F0) is a true cyan with a neon character. It sits at the high-saturation edge of its family. Use it sparingly, as signage, accent, or highlight against darker surfaces. Its HSL profile (177°, 93%, 65%) places it in the highly saturated band at a mid lightness. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. Greek stróbos, whirling — present-participle of strobe. As a color modifier, strobing implies a saturated-and-pulse-flashing quality, the bright color of concert-strobe-light and photographic-strobe high-frequency-pulse light emission. Sits at the bright-and-flashing end of the grid, parallel to flashing and pulsating in usage.
The Hawaiian island — and the saturated turquoise of Maui's Molokini Crater snorkeling-lagoon water. Maui refers to Molokini Crater at midday: a saturated, slightly cool deep blue-green with the optical clarity of cold Pacific water filtered through volcanic black-sand and white coral.
