Alit Demantoid
Alit Demantoid (#52AF0D) is a true lime with a jewel character. It carries the deep, saturated richness of a gemstone. Authoritative and slightly formal, it works well for type and heavy UI elements. Its HSL profile (94°, 86%, 37%) places it in the highly saturated band at a mid lightness. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. Old English ā-lihtan, to alight — past-participle of alight. As a color modifier, alit implies a saturated-and-just-illuminated quality, the bright color of evening-streetlamp and Christmas-tree-light freshly-switched-on emission. A green variety of andradite garnet — known for its high dispersion (more than diamond) and prized in late-Tsarist-era Russian jewelry. Mined principally in the Russian Urals, Namibia, and Madagascar. The color refers to a faceted Russian demantoid: a saturated, slightly cool deep green with the gem's signature internal fire.
