Forthright Cynoglossum
Forthright Cynoglossum (#505FFB) is a true blue with a neon character. It sits at the high-saturation edge of its family. Use it sparingly, as signage, accent, or highlight against darker surfaces. Its HSL profile (235°, 96%, 65%) places it in the highly saturated band at a mid lightness. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. Old English forð-riht, straight ahead, direct. Used as a color modifier in Anglo-Saxon-revival contexts for hues that read as honest and unguarded. The genus Cynoglossum — Chinese forget-me-not or hound's-tongue, biennial members of the borage family with deep-blue forget-me-not-style flowers in early summer. The color refers to a fresh C. amabile in May: a saturated, slightly cool deep blue with the matte finish of small five-petaled flowers.
