Dark Indore
Dark Indore (#501D97) is a true indigo with a jewel character. It carries the deep, saturated richness of a gemstone. Authoritative and slightly formal, it works well for type and heavy UI elements. Old English deorc, dark, gloomy — cognate with the German dunkel and the Latin terra, earth, both pointing to a base meaning of covered or obscured. Indore color refers to an Indore-made Holkar-court kanjivaram silk: a saturated, slightly cool deep blue-violet with the silk luster of multi-bath natural indigo on heavy zari brocade.
