Squared Yanagi
Squared Yanagi (#4C6B14) is a deep lime with a jewel character. It carries the deep, saturated richness of a gemstone. Authoritative and slightly formal, it works well for type and heavy UI elements. Etymology
Latin quadrātus, four-sided — past-participle of square. As a color modifier, squared implies a clear-and-rectilinear-and-orthogonal quality where the hue carries the visual register of right-angle architectural-and-grid alignment. Sits at the crisp-and-balanced end of the grid, parallel to aligned and plumb in usage.
Salix — the willow in Japanese, and the soft yellow-green of fresh willow leaves in spring. Yanagi-iro is a traditional Japanese fashion color, distinct from moegi by its slightly cooler shift. The color refers to a fresh willow leaf along a Kyoto canal: a soft, slightly cool yellow-green with the satin finish of new lanceolate foliage.
