Resounding Sorrel
Resounding Sorrel (#479C12) is a deep lime with a jewel character. It carries the deep, saturated richness of a gemstone. Authoritative and slightly formal, it works well for type and heavy UI elements. Its HSL profile (97°, 79%, 34%) places it in the highly saturated band at a dark lightness. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. Latin resonāre, to echo back — present-participle of resound. As a color modifier, resounding implies a saturated-and-echoing-and-imposing quality where the hue reverberates visually like a cathedral-bell ring. Rumex acetosa, the European dock-family green whose tart oxalic-acid leaves are eaten as soup ingredient (soupe d'oseille) and salad green. The color refers to fresh sorrel leaves in spring: a saturated, slightly muted yellow-green with the matte finish of arrow-shaped leaves. Cooler than spinach.
