Hot Uaine
Hot Uaine (#45AC06) is a true lime with a jewel character. It carries the deep, saturated richness of a gemstone. Authoritative and slightly formal, it works well for type and heavy UI elements. Its HSL profile (97°, 93%, 35%) places it in the highly saturated band at a mid lightness. Etymology
Old English hāt, of high temperature — applied metaphorically to color since the eighteenth century for warm hues at high saturation. Hot pink, hot red: the implication is luminous intensity combined with thermal warmth. Sits in the bright-and-warm corner of the grid, alongside burning and vivid.
The Irish word for green — used in Éire uaine (green Ireland) and the Connacht uaine of Connaught county banners. Uaine names the saturated grass-green of Atlantic-coast Irish hillsides. The color refers to an Irish hillside in May: a saturated, slightly cool yellow-green with the matte finish of well-watered Atlantic pasture.
