Neon Algae

Greek néon, new — element-name (atomic-number 10), discovered by William Ramsay in 1898. Sits at the bright-and-electric end of the grid, parallel to electric and fluorescent in usage.

The color refers to a green algal bloom on a still pond: a saturated, slightly muted yellow-green with the matte chlorophyll finish of cellular density.
