Sable Sap
Sable Sap (#2A4001) is a deep lime with a jewel character. It carries the deep, saturated richness of a gemstone. Authoritative and slightly formal, it works well for type and heavy UI elements. Its HSL profile (81°, 97%, 13%) places it in the highly saturated band at a dark lightness. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. Etymology
Martes zibellina, the Eurasian sable — a small mustelid of Siberian taiga whose deep brown-black fur was the most prized mammalian pelt of the Russian and Chinese imperial courts. The color refers to a fresh sable pelt: a deep, slightly warm near-black with the satin finish of densely packed guard hairs. Warmer than ink, glossier than coal, with the courtly weight of a fur reserved for tsars and emperors.
The watery solution that moves through xylem and phloem in vascular plants — sugars, amino acids, ions, and the occasional alkaloid. The color refers to fresh-cut grass sap or unconcentrated maple sap: a clear, slightly yellow-green with the optical quality of plant fluid.
