Genuine Larimar (#27C1D1) is a true cyan with a vibrant character. It holds its own as a focal accent, carrying visual weight without tipping into neon territory. Etymology
Latin genuinus, natural, innate — used as a color modifier since the sixteenth century for hues that read as authentic rather than imitated. A blue variety of pectolite — a calcium-sodium silicate — found only in one mountain range in the Dominican Republic. The color refers to a polished larimar cabochon: a soft, slightly muted light blue with the cloudy translucency of pectolite. Lighter than aqua, warmer than glacier, with the gem-trade specificity of a stone that occurs in exactly one place on Earth.
