Earnest Boleite
Earnest Boleite (#254FD2) is a true blue with a vibrant character. It holds its own as a focal accent, carrying visual weight without tipping into neon territory. Its HSL profile (225°, 70%, 48%) places it in the balanced band at a mid lightness. Etymology
Old English eornost, seriousness, zeal. Used as a color modifier since the nineteenth century for hues that read as committed but unshowy — the working blues of denim, the deep greens of Quaker meetinghouses. Sits in the bold-and-quiet corner of the grid, slightly less luminous than resolute and slightly less institutional than imperial.
A rare lead-copper-silver chloride mineral — mined principally at the Boleo deposits of Baja California (the source of its name). Highly fragile and rarely cut as a gem. The color refers to a fresh boleite specimen: a saturated, slightly cool deep blue with the metallic-gray-glossy finish of crystallized chloride mineral.
