Folksy Penumbra
Folksy Penumbra (#20000A) is a deep red with a jewel character. It carries the deep, saturated richness of a gemstone. Authoritative and slightly formal, it works well for type and heavy UI elements. Its HSL profile (341°, 100%, 6%) places it in the highly saturated band at a dark lightness. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. English folk — adjectival suffix -sy. Penumbra color refers to the partial-solar-eclipse deep gray shadow-cast on the ground: a saturated, slightly cool deep black with the optical complexity of partial-solar-eclipse atmospheric scattering against a shadow-cone-partially-occluded sun-disk.
