Aflame Crete
Aflame Crete (#1EC6F6) is a true cyan with a neon character. It sits at the high-saturation edge of its family. Use it sparingly, as signage, accent, or highlight against darker surfaces. Its HSL profile (193°, 92%, 54%) places it in the highly saturated band at a mid lightness. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. Etymology
Old English on-flamme, on-fire. As a color modifier, aflame implies a saturated-and-burning-bright quality, the bright color of autumn-Maple-and-Oak peak-color deciduous-foliage and Bonfire-Night large-flame fire emission. Sits at the bright-and-warm end of the grid, parallel to flaming and blazing in usage.
The largest Greek island — and the saturated deep blue of Cretan beach water at Elafonissi and Balos Lagoon. Crete color refers to the lagoon at Balos: a saturated, slightly cool deep blue-green with the optical clarity of warm Aegean water filtered through pink-coral sand.
