Stalwart Kihachijō (#105AD2) is a true azure with a vibrant character. It holds its own as a focal accent, carrying visual weight without tipping into neon territory. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. Etymology
Old English stǣl-wyrðe, stable-and-worthy. As a color modifier, stalwart implies a saturated-and-loyal-and-firm quality where the hue carries the dependable-and-trustworthy visual presence of a Knight-Templar guard. Sits at the bold-and-firm end of the grid, parallel to steadfast and firm in usage.
The traditional indigo-dyed silk of Hachijō island in Tokyo's southern archipelago — produced from native kobaicha (yellow-brown) and aogarami (deep blue) dyes since at least the eighteenth century. Kihachijō-iro refers to the saturated medium blue of the silk: a saturated, slightly cool deep blue with the satin finish of plant-dyed island silk.
