Mellow Stack
Mellow Stack (#10000C) is a deep magenta with a jewel character. It carries the deep, saturated richness of a gemstone. Authoritative and slightly formal, it works well for type and heavy UI elements. Its HSL profile (315°, 100%, 3%) places it in the highly saturated band at a dark lightness. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. Old Norse stakka, haystack — adopted into English for the smokestack (chimney-stack) of Industrial-Revolution coal-fired factories and steamboat funnels. Stack color refers to a freshly soot-coated Bessemer-converter-period English steel-mill stack exterior in raking light: a saturated, slightly cool deep black with the matte finish of multi-decade soot-and-creosote sediment on hand-cut industrial brick.
