Elemental Hornblende

Hornblende color refers to a freshly cleaved Adirondack hornblende prismatic-cluster face: a saturated, slightly cool deep black with the glassy finish of monoclinic-system iron-magnesium-aluminum-amphibole. The German name Hornblende is 16th-century Saxon mining vocabulary.
