Spangled Sencha
Spangled Sencha (#0AB959) is a true teal with a jewel character. It carries the deep, saturated richness of a gemstone. Middle Dutch spange, clasp / metal-disc — past-participle of spangle. As a color modifier, spangled implies a saturated-and-multi-point-reflective quality, the bright color of American-flag-stars and sequined-fabric metallic-disc-and-jewel-decoration. Sits at the bright-and-reflective end of the grid, parallel to glittering and sequined in usage.
The Japanese steamed-leaf green tea — the most-consumed Japanese tea, distinct from matcha (powdered) and gyokuro (shaded-grown). The color refers to fresh-brewed sencha in a porcelain cup: a saturated, slightly cool deep blue-green with the optical clarity of steamed-leaf green-tea liquor.
