Coruscating Kohlrabi
Coruscating Kohlrabi (#09AF13) is a true green with a jewel character. It carries the deep, saturated richness of a gemstone. Authoritative and slightly formal, it works well for type and heavy UI elements. Its HSL profile (124°, 90%, 36%) places it in the highly saturated band at a mid lightness. Best used in small doses, like logos, CTAs, focus rings, or highlight text, where its saturation becomes a feature rather than noise. Latin coruscāns, flashing — present-participle of coruscāre. As a color modifier, coruscating implies a saturated-and-rapidly-flashing quality, the bright color of lightning-strike atmospheric-electrical-discharge against the night-sky. Sits at the bright-and-flashing end of the grid, parallel to flashing and flickering in usage.
Brassica oleracea var. gongylodes — the swollen-stem cabbage variety used in German and Indian cooking. Kohlrabi color refers to a fresh raw kohlrabi bulb after its leaves are removed: a soft, slightly cool pale green with the matte finish of cruciferous root-stem.
